The Cleary’s story begins on St. Patrick’s Day in 1957, when Irish immigrants Frank Cleary and Mary O’Shea met for the first time in Detroit, Michigan. Marrying in 1958, the Cleary’s proudly raised six children with not only deep community roots, but a strong and virtuous foundation as well.

In 1991, first generation Cleary siblings, Joan (Cleary) Henry, Meg (Cleary) Boomer, and (Pat) Patrick Cleary chose to proudly plant their roots by opening the doors of Cleary’s Pub in charming, historic downtown Chelsea. Since the door’s opened, Cleary’s has been all about quality - from the handcrafted beers to the exciting atmosphere, and not to mention the friendly, knowledgeable staff with a love for the community.
